Walker’s Charity Gala Day and Open-Air Concert
This summer’s big event!!
Walker’s Charity Gala Day and Open-Air Concert.
Make a date in your diary now for this exciting Charity fund-raiser on Sunday, June 12, 2011.
Gates open at 11.00 am.
We will be raising funds for three very special Doncaster charities: The Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust, The Grand Theatre, and Kristal Clear, a charity that assists cancer sufferers.
Here’s your chance to enjoy a wonderful day out in our magnificent Show Gardens with something for everyone, and for all age-groups.
This unique event starts with a craft fair, with musicians, dancers and singers performing on the main stage throughout the day. For younger children there will be rides and fairground attractions, kindly provided by Roger Tuby. Adults are requested to pay £1.00 per person for access to the grounds and attractions, while children up to 18 are free.
There will be a charge of £10.00 per adult (children free) for the early evening concert, which begins at 4.30 pm, and you are encouraged to bring your own picnic, tables and chairs. Unfortunately no barbecues are allowed.
Artistes confirmed for this Gala Concert are: the father and daughter singing duo, Enchanted; BBC Radio 3′s Open Choir of the Year Rainbow Connections; Alexandra Parker, electric violinist, and The Hallgate Orchestra with Sarah Estill of Opera North. The Orchestra and Ms Estill will be re-creating The Last Night of the Proms, so please bring your Union Flags! The concert is compered by Phil Penfold.
There will be food and other refreshments available, and a licensed bar.
Tickets are available from Walker’s Nurseries and the Doncaster Tourist Information Office – book NOW and make a difference in your community!
